More Discount Golf Clubs Provide More Chance

Discount golf equipment is the only way for some to play the game. Golf may be the most expensive sport a person can play. The very cost of it makes it an exclusive sport usually available only to the financially privileged. Not only is it expensive upfront, it also requires considerable ongoing expense.

A golfer requires a lot more gear to get started than most other sports. And golf gear is expensive. Smart golfers often look for discount golf equipment, golf packages, even discount golf vacations.

Save big money without sacrificing any quality or more importantly, any performance. There are basically two different places to look for discount golf. You should shop both for the best deal before making you buying decisions.

Some discount golf stores only offer their items for sale on the Internet. These dealers save money on overhead by not having a retail location to support. Plus they can reach a larger market and do a larger volume of business so their costs are reduced. Most internet discount golf equipment outlets offer a wide range of high-quality name- brand golf gear.

Stores that sell discount golf clubs aren't necessarily selling used items. There are plenty of discount outlets selling overstock, last-years inventory and clearance merchandise - all at rock bottom discount golf prices. The point is most of the items are brand new and never used. They just cost less.

A few large discount golf outlets do have storefronts. The buying power of these discount golf chains allows them to sell high quality goods at very low prices. The advantage of these chain operations is you can go to the store and swing the club before you pay for it.

As with any purchase, it isn't a deal if you don't actually need it. Make sure you need what you purchase and focus on those brand names you know and trust. Shop around and if possible go to a discount store and try out the golf club you want to buy. Even if you buy it for a lower price online you can get a feel for it at a discount golf store first.

After Years of Near Misses, Toms Pulls Out a Victory

David Toms threw his arms up and smiled when he finally regained the lead at the Colonial. This time, he did not let it get away.

A day after blowing a seven-stroke advantage to go into the final round at Forth Worth trailing Charlie Wi by one, Toms made an eagle with a wedge shot from 83 yards at the par-5 11th hole Sunday to take the lead for good. Toms went on to his first PGA Tour victory since January 2006.

Toms, 44, closed with a three-under 67 at Hogan’s Alley to finish at 15 under, one better than Wi. Toms’s 13th title came a week after a playoff loss to K. J. Choi at the Players Championship, his sixth runner-up finish since his previous victory.

“That just took a lot of guts; that’s really all,” Toms said. “That’s what I got by on today.”
Wi, of South Korea, shot a 69 for his fourth runner-up finish without a victory.

After that playoff loss at T.P.C. Sawgrass in Florida, Toms began at the Colonial with a 62, his best score in 429 rounds since a career-best 61 during his last victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Toms followed with another bogey-free 62 to match the PGA Tour scoring record for the first 36 holes of a tournament (124), and he opened the third round with a birdie.

At 17 under through 37 holes, Toms scored three bogeys in the next five holes. Wi took the lead with a 32-foot birdie at the par-3 16th. Wi extended his lead to three strokes after consecutive birdies to open Sunday’s round.

Taylormade Burner Superfast Fairway Wood

To be honest, the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast fairway wood is one of my golf clubs. I have owned it three months ago. It is very special and awesome!

It features an improved SuperFast Technology which promotes higher swing speeds, hotter ball speed, and up to 10 yards more distance than the Burner 08 fairway woods. It also features a larger, more expansive clubface that is both easier to hit and confidence inspiring. It is the largest steel-headed fairway wood that TaylorMade has produced to date.

The last feature is a "fast-looking" triangular head shape that due to its larger size should help to give you more confidence when addressing the ball and also provides more forgiveness, which is something we could all use a bit more of.

It appears, at least at the present time, that TaylorMade is moving a bit away from the moveable weight technology that had made up a great deal of their woods and hybrids line of the past several years and offering several categories of products for various caliber of golfers under the Burner name.

At last, I must say that I like the looks of the Burner Superfast Fairway Woods.

2011's Best Golf Drivers in My Eyes

Some of 2011's best drivers are out, and you really need to take the time in choosing the one driver that will get you closest to the pin. After all, the drive may be the most important hit you make on each hole. Without further adieu, here's what you need to consider trying out. These clubs are not ranked in any way.

TaylorMade R9 460 Driver- This is probably the highest scoring driver in the gold medal category, and it should be the one you buy. It features an adjustable shaft which allows you to change the face angle, and we all know what that means: a fully customizable setup in which you can pre-determine where the ball will go. For instance, rotating the face a degree to the left will make sure that upon impact, the ball will travel to the left. An ingenious idea and a giant leap for the driver industry, this club should be more of a collector's item than anything.

TaylorMade R9 SuperDeep TP Driver- It is a pure player's driver. It has a 460cc head with an ultra-deep clubface, creating a lower moment of inertia and forward center of gravity for increased workability. The two weight ports, FCT and MWT, create 448 launch condition combinations and the new extra-low-torque Aldila R.I.P. shaft is engineered for strong players seeking a mid launch-angle and low spin. Flight Control Technology (FCT) utilizes a metal sleeve positioned over the tip of the shaft, which can be rotated into different positions to adjust the loft, lie, and face angle.

Callaway FT-iz Driver- It provides stability, consistency, incredible feel and increased speed. We did all this by utilizing a heavy face and heavy in-line power source in the rear of the club to localize weight at the front and back of the driver. In our never-ending mission to find more distance and accuracy for golfers, Callaway’s engineers used an entirely new design to once again produce a driver that’s longer and straighter than anything we’ve ever made. The technical features explained below were incorporated to accomplish this goal and help golfers break through their distance barrier.
